WHAT IS A VIRTUAL ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM?

Elite 7 Sports Medicine's Virtual Athletic Training Room provides remote access to certified athletic trainers who can assess, advise, and guide athletes on injury prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation.

WHO CAN USE THE VIRTUAL ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM?

Athletes of all ages and skill levels, coaches, and parents associated with partnered sporting leagues and organizations.

WHAT TYPES OF SERVICES ARE OFFERED?

Injury assessment, first aid guidance, injury prevention education, rehabilitation exercises, return-to-play evaluation and, general athletic health advice.

WILL I SEE A DOCTOR DURING MY VISIT?

No. All of our visits are conducted by certified athletic trainers with experience in sports medicine and injury management. Should further medical evaluation be deemed necessary, our athletic trainers will refer you to the appropriate specialist.

DO I NEED INSURANCE FOR A VIRTUAL ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM VISIT?

No! Our Virtual Athletic Training Room is run by athletic trainers and we do not take insurance. Our visits are all cash based and start at $45 for a general visit and $65 for a concussion management appointment without a subscription.

IS MY PERSONAL AND HEALTH INFORMATION SECURE?

Yes, all consultations are conducted in compliance with HIPAA regulation to ensure the security and privacy of your health information.

WILL MY COACH OR TEAM HAVE ACCESS TO MY CONSULTATION DETAILS?

Personal health information is confidential and will only be shared with your coach or team if you provide explicit consent.

CAN PARENTS OR GUARDIANS JOIN THE VATR VISIT?

Absolutely! We encourage parents or guardians to participate in the consultations for our youth athletes.

MY STATE REQUIRES CLEARANCE BY A DOCTOR BEFORE I AM ALLOWED TO RETURN FROM A CONCUSSION, HOW DO CONCUSSION APPOINTMENTS WORK IN THAT SITUATION?

Most states require clearance by a licensed healthcare provider (MD/DO, PA, NP, or concussion specialist) before starting a return to play protocol before returning to sport.  In the Virtual Athletic Training Room we are able to provide concussion testing/evaluation and follow you through the return to play protocol.  We are also trained to notice when athletes are struggling in certain areas and can help get them additional resources in their area.

HOW DOES A VIRTUAL ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM VISIT WORK? DOESN'T AN ATHLETIC TRAINER NEED TO SEE ME IN PERSON TO COMPLETE AN EVALUATION?

All of our Virtual Athletic Training Room (VATR) visits start with your medical history and how the injury happened. From there (for an injury evaluation visit) our athletic trainers will walk you through some range of motion exercises and some tests that will help guide them in determining what is going on.  With the education and training our athletic trainers have received throughout their career, this evaluation and questioning will guide your injury evaluation, rehabilitation plan, or referral to a provider if recommended.  Each visit is different and tailored to the individual athlete.
